Sally Thompson, AGU Outstanding Reviewer of 2016

Professor Sally Thompson was recognized by the American Geophysical Union (AGU) as one of its Outstanding Reviewers of 2016. The reviewers were selected by the editors of each AGU journal for their work in 2016.

The task of peer reviewing forces researchers to think deeply and broadly about others’ contributions to science in ways that are fundamentally different from simply reading a paper. The process of reviewing helps scientists improve their careers and develop better networks.

Peer reviews are essential for helping maintain the integrity of science and its efficient advancement.
