Access to Davis and McLaughlin Halls from Hearst Avenue
Enter through Campus North Gate, located at the intersection of Euclid and Hearst Avenues. Take the first path to the left, which leads past Sutardja Dai Hall to Davis Hall. Turn left and go up the stairs to the main (west) entrance of Davis Hall or turn right to the entrance of McLaughlin Hall.
Alternatively, enter campus from the upper end of Hearst Avenue via the pathway between Sutardja Dai Hall and Cory Hall. Walk down pathway to the east entrance of Davis Hall. If the destination is McLaughlin, walk past Davis Hall, turn right, walk through the terrace on the south side of Davis and down the steps to McLaughlin.
Both entrances of Davis Hall are on the third floor. Enter Davis Hall and follow the hallway to the elevators. The CEE department offices are located on the seventh floor of Davis Hall.
Parking Near Davis and McLaughlin Halls
CEE provides central campus parking permits to guests of the department. Two parking structures are available to those with a central campus parking permit. The closest lot is the Lower Hearst Parking Structure, located at the intersection of Hearst and Scenic Avenues. Enter this structure from Hearst Avenue. Read the posted signs as certain levels are designated for holders of central campus parking permits.
The Upper Hearst Parking Structure, located at the intersection of Hearst Avenue and Gayley Road, is also available for parking. If you park in this structure, enter campus via the pathway between Sutardja Dai Hall and Cory Hall. (See Access to Davis and McLaughlin Halls from Hearst Avenue above.)
If you are parking near Davis and McLaughlin Halls without a permit, you will need to park in one of the garages near campus, or find street parking. See Public Parking in the City of Berkeley
Taking BART to Davis and McLaughlin Halls
The Downtown Berkeley BART station is just 1-1/2 blocks west of the UC Berkeley campus. Get off at the Downtown Berkeley Station, walk east on Center Street to the corner of Center Street and Shattuck Avenue. Go north on Shattuck Avenue for one block. Shuttles from downtown Berkeley to the campus perimeter leave from the corner of Shattuck Avenue and Addison Street. You want to take the Perimeter Shuttle to the North Gate stop. Cost is $1.00. Alternatively, it is about a 10-minute walk through the campus, and up the hill, to Davis and McLaughlin Halls.
