Alumna Adeleine Tran receives Women in Deep Foundations Institute grant

Adeleine Tran (CE BS '15, MS '17) is a recent recipient of the Women in Deep Foundations Professional Development Grant, given by the prestigious Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) of New Jersey.

The grant is presented to women who display excellence in professional achievement and who are active in promoting the geotechnical engineering profession.

Adeleine works as a geotechnical engineer for Jacobs Engineering Group in Irvine, CA, and is a licensed civil engineer in the state of California. Her professional achievements, coupled with her passion for the geotechnical profession, led her to being honored with this grant from DFI.

"My education from UC Berkeley has been invaluable to me and helped my early career tremendously.  It was actually an undergraduate internship with Berkeley’s PEER Center that strengthened my interest in geotechnical engineering and led me to where I am today," says Adeleine.

Professor Nick Sitar served as her faculty adviser.
