CEE Alumnus Gang Wang (CE PhD '05) won the 2018 Mao Yisheng Youth Award for his achievement in geotechnical earthquake engineering and soil dynamics.
This award, given once every two years, recognizes individuals under the age 45 who have made significant contributions in soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering. It is China's most recognized and most prestigious award in the field.
Dr. Wang is currently an Associate Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
He received his PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from UC Berkeley in 2005. His faculty adviser was Nick Sitar.
