James Rector Awarded Honorary Membership to SEG

Featured Faculty: James W. Rector

Professor James Rector has been selected by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) to receive the Society's Honorary Membership, a recognition of those who have made distinguished contributions to exploration geophysics and the advancement of the profession. Professor Rector is honored for his technical contributions, entrepreneurship, dedication to students, and service to the SEG.

SEG's Honorary Membership is granted to a highly select group of geophysicists, with just one recipient in many of the years since the award's inception in 1930. Honorary Membership is conferred after unanimous vote of SEG's Honors and Awards Committee and the Board of Directors.

Official recognition of Professor Rector's award will take place in October, during SEG’s 2020 Annual Meeting in
Houston. Congratulations to Professor Rector on this significant career milestone!
