Ritu Garg Honored with Top 50 Women in Engineering Award

CEE alumna Ritu Garg has been named to the Top 50 Women in Engineering: Sustainability awards (WE50), which celebrates women in the United Kingdom who have contributed to the engineering industry and related fields.

The Women’s Engineering Society (WES) produces the annual WE50, which this year focuses on women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) who are involved in the creation or delivery of sustainable strategies and solutions. Their work has played a significant role in addressing global climate change and the delivery of Net Zero Carbon and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Since graduating from UC Berkeley, Garg has worked at Arup in London, where she is currently a senior transport planner. Her work is focused on major transport infrastructure and feasibility studies in urban regions. She is particularly interested in sustainable development and how transport, land-use, economics, and resource needs in growing regions can both support growth and uphold long-term quality of life.
