Amber Chau Selected for ASCE's Outstanding Civil Engineering Student Award

Masters student Amber Chau was selected by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), San Francisco Section, for its 2020 Outstanding Civil Engineering Student Award. The award recognizes a civil engineer under the age of 35 who has exhibited professional achievement and has made significant impact to the field of engineering. This impact may be through professional activities, ASCE involvement, research and innovative engineering solutions.

Amber has been a student at UC Berkeley for both her undergraduate and graduate education. She earned a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and will graduate with her M.S. in Energy, Civil Infrastructure, and Climate next year. Throughout, she has been heavily involved in department leadership and activities, participating on the Concrete Canoe Team, and serving as the ASCE student chapter Conference Director (2018), Vice President of External Affairs (2019), CEE Joint Fundraising Committee Chair (2019), and President (2020).

Join us in congratulating Amber on this well-deserved honor! She will be recognized at ASCE's Annual Section Meeting taking place on September 30, to be held virtually this year. The event is open to anyone that would like to attend.
