CEE Commencement Ceremony Information

Congratulations to all our graduating and graduated Civil and Environmental Engineering students!

The College of Engineering Commencement ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the Hearst Greek Theatre. The Doctoral degree ceremony will be on Saturday, May 24, 2025, and the College of Engineering will host the Ph.D. reception after the ceremony at the Campanile. 

On Wednesday, CEE alum Clifford Chan will be the keynote speaker for the Baccalaureate degree ceremony. He has served as the 10th General Manager of the East Bay Municipal Utility District since June 9, 2020. In this position, he is responsible for providing high-quality drinking water to 1.4 million residents and businesses across 20 cities and 15 unincorporated communities in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, in addition to overseeing wastewater treatment for 740,000 customers.

Paige Destiny Lyles will serve as the student speaker at the Master's degree ceremony. She earned her Bachelor's degree from the department in 2023 and is now pursuing her MEng degree at Berkeley IEOR. Previously, she held a summer research fellowship at Hochschule München as a DAAD Rise Fellow, focusing her research on additive manufacturing (3D concrete printing) with carbon fiber reinforcement and recycled aggregates. 

 

Commencement Reception

CEE will hold a celebratory reception for all Baccalaureate and M.S. graduates and their families from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the O’Brien Breeze Way. Please stop by for cookies, champagne, and cider and to take pictures with friends, family, and faculty!!
