UC Berkeley researchers are developing a first-of-its-kind digital twin of the Lower Pajaro River Valley to help communities visualize flooding and explore how infrastructure, climate change, ecology and equity intersect. Led by Anna Serra-Llobet and UC Berkeley's Civil and Environmental Engineering Associate Professor Adda Athanasopoulos-Zekkos. The Pajaro Hydro-Twin project brings together multiple researchers from CEE, including PhD candidate Gabriela Paredes and Distinguished Professor Kenichi Soga, alongside interdisciplinary partners. Together, the team is using advanced digital modeling to better understand flood risk and inform more resilient infrastructure planning.
