Professor Amy Pickering has received the Excellence in Research Award at the 20th annual Water & Health Conference, hosted by the University of North Carolina (UNC) Water Institute, October 26–30, 2026.
The annual conference brings together policymakers, practitioners, and researchers to advance solutions for improving access to safe, affordable, and sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services worldwide. The Water Institute recognized four individuals whose contributions are advancing the field through leadership, research, policy, and practice.
Professor Pickering's award recognizes her outstanding research contributions as well as her dedication to mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. The award was presented by Professor Joe Brown of UNC, Chair of the 2026 Water & Health Conference.
