Sally Thompson, First Woman to receive AGU Early Career Award in Hydrology

Professor Sally Thompson, faculty member in CEE's Environmental Engineering program, has been selected as a recipient of the American Geophysical Union's Early Career Hydrologic Sciences Award. She is the first woman to receive this award, and only the second woman to receive any award from the Hydrology Division at AGU.

The Early Career Hydrologic Sciences Award recognizes outstanding research, educational or other accomplishments, such as societal impacts, for a scientist at his or her early career stage. In doing so, the Hydrology section acknowledges significant early career contributions of the awardee, and promise of continued contributions to hydrologic science.

Thompson will receive the award at next week's fall AGU meeting in San Francisco.
