Summary
Professor Luthy is the Silas H. Palmer Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University. He served as Chair of Stanford CEE from 2003-2009. Professor Luthy teaches in the area of environmental engineering and water quality, with a focus on physiochemical processes and applied aquatic chemistry with application to waste reduction and treatment, and remediation of contaminated soil and sediment. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, and is the former chair of the National Research C ouncil's Water Science and Technology Board.
