Summary
Under the supervision of the TDI technical director, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing technical material which supports our efforts to provide design guidance to structural engineers. The successful candidate will also support the technical director with actual project implementation and customer support.
The ideal candidate will be educated in structural design, specifically in the area of seismic design and analysis. This requires a sound knowledge in ASCE Building Codes and a foundational knowledge of damping devices and their merits. Knowledge of structural engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETABS, or SAP2000, is a must.
Responsibilities
- General and technical support for the technical director
- Project Development
- Supporting the technical director when meeting with structural engineers and assisting them through the process of design, project development and project fruition.
- Creative design of new design guidance material.
- Attend networking events that are hosted by local organizations.
Suggested Background
- Must have completed or be enrolled in a BSCE or MSCE engineering program
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interest in dynamic analysis and seismic design
- Extensive training will be provided by Taylor Devices’ Technical Director and at TDI headquarters located near Buffalo, NY
