Environmental engineering science major Claire Beckstoffer is a finalist for this year's University Medal award! The University Medal was established in 1871, three years after the founding of the University of California, to recognize outstanding undergraduate students upon their graduation.
Claire has been deeply engaged in both her studies and service during her time at UC Berkeley. She served as a project lead for UC Berkeley Engineers Without Borders, and after graduating she will hold a fellowship with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama, then an internship at Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam studying fungi.
