Congratulations to CEE Professor Iris Tommelein for being awarded the 2024 ASCE Construction Management Award! The Construction Management Award is a national award given to "an individual who has been a member in good standing of the Construction Institute or the American Society of Civil Engineers for at least 5 years and who has made outstanding contributions to the field of construction management as a practitioner, educator, or researcher either in the form of written presentations, scholarly work, or notable performance."
Tommelein was nominated for this award for her "groundbreaking research in Lean Construction and leadership in teaching and advancing state-of-the-art construction management practices worldwide." The award was instituted by ASCE in 1973, and she is the first woman to receive this recognition.
