Description

The Environmental Analyst will develop and lead the Airport's urgent capital-related and compliance-driven portfolio of work to meet its regulatory and third-party obligations pertaining to SFO tenant reactivation, improvements, construction demolition debris, zero waste concessions, food donation and Green Business programs, and track compliance and performance of all related initiatives and policies.  This position is also the point for verifying captial project performance through all third-party rating systems including, but not limited to LEED, Fitwel, WELL, TRUE, Parksmart, Living Building Challenge and more.  The function also coordinates data collection and greenhouse gas emissions reporting to the California Air Resources Board, City and County of San Francisco and the Airport Council International (Airport Carbon Accredidation Program) and supports net zero carbon policy development and attainment including designing and identifying financing for Scope 1 and 3 direct mitigation projects, carbon offset banking and, potentially, sale.

The Environmental Analyst reports to the Airport's Energy Program Manager, through which the function collects, analyzes and reports upon SFO's campus-wide, building-specific and ground transportation's related electricity, natural gas, water, waste and fuels to forecast, report and ensure compliance with City, County and State requirements and support campus-wide awareness and prioritization of operational efficiency projects.

Further, the individual supports SFO's Zero Waste Specialist in:  training project teams in construction and demolition debris (C&D) management and reporting, tracking monthly billing and data related to C&D Waste; conducting audits and tenant and staff zero waste trainings.  To that end, this position is highly integrated within the Facilities and Construction teams to cross coordinate tenant-related onboarding, compliance inspections, data collection, document control and recordkeeping.  This position also supports preparing an annual Airport-wide Environmental Compliance Report; tracking progress on SFO's Zero Waste Plan; ensuring tenant compliance on SFO's Zero Waste Concessions Program, Tenant Sustainability Guide, Green Business Program, Green Cleaning Program, Green Purchasing Policy, and related policies/programs; and coordinating SFO Unites Against Hunger Food Donation Program.
