On November 15, approximately 30 CEE students, from undergraduates to postdoctoral scholars, went to Stockton for an engaging educational outreach event focused on air quality. CEE Professor Tina Chow led the team to visit eight science classes, five at Fillmore and three at Merlo Institute of Environmental Technology, reaching over 200 middle and high school students.

The outreach event featured hands-on demonstrations to teach students about air quality and the importance of mitigating air pollution, particularly PM2.5 (fine particulate matter). The students showcased two interactive demonstrations demonstrating how indoor air can be purified through filtration systems, providing students with an engaging and educational experience for students.

The event's success has already set the stage for another outreach initiative planned for next February, continuing to promote awareness and understanding of air quality issues among local students.
