Collective for Inclusive Engineering Seminar Series
NOVEMBER 2025
Featuring Vice Provost Lisa García Bedolla
Monday, November 3 • 12:00 PM • Jarvis Auditorium, Grimes Engineering Center
Join us for the next seminar in the Collective for Inclusive Engineering Series, featuring Lisa García Bedolla, Berkeley’s Vice Provost for Graduate Studies and Hitchcock Dean of the Graduate Division, and Chancellor’s Professor of Education.
Professor García Bedolla uses the tools of social science to uncover the causes of educational and political inequalities in the United States, with a focus on differences across ethnorace, gender, class, geography, and more. Her interdisciplinary and intersectional approach helps reveal the complexity of these issues in contemporary society.
Her research employs diverse social science methods—including in-depth interviews, surveys, field experiments, and geographic information systems (GIS)—to explore how community-engaged and participatory research can foster more equitable environments.
This seminar will highlight practical pathways for advancing justice, diversity, and inclusion within academic and STEM spaces.
Refreshments will be served following the event - We hope to see you there!
