The Cal Construction Team recently competed in the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Annual Student Competition and Construction Management Conference, a premier national event that brings together construction students, faculty, and industry leaders. ASC is a professional association dedicated to advancing construction education through collaborations between academia and industry. It is also the leader in promoting excellence in curricula, teaching, research, and professional practice.
The 2026 conference drew 246 competition teams from 56 universities across 20 states. More than 80 UC Berkeley Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE) students, faculty, and staff traveled to Reno, Nevada to participate in the multi-day event, which featured team competitions, lectures, presentations, networking opportunities, and a corporate job fair.
Competing in six-person teams, Cal Construction students tackled real-world construction challenges across categories including Heavy Civil, Commercial, Mixed Use, Design-Build, Integrated Project, and more. Four of UC Berkeley’s ten teams earned top honors, an outstanding achievement in a highly competitive field.
Congratulations to the Cal Construction Team! We are incredibly proud of our Bears and their exceptional performance on the national stage.
