Professor Adda Athanasopoulos-Zekkos has been elected President of the U.S. Universities Council on Geotechnical Education and Research (USUCGER). She will serve a two-year term, from 2020-2022. Before her election as President, Athanasopoulos-Zekkos served as a Senior Board Member with USUCGER, which has 136 University Members.

The USUCGER was founded in 1985 to advocate for the continued development and expansion of quality geotechnical engineering research and education within the U.S. This discipline has evolved to include geotechnical, geomechanical, geoenvironmental, geological, and geophysical engineering.

We congratulate Professor Athanasopoulos-Zekkos on this opportunity to engage with the U.S. geotechnical community within academia, and lead new and exciting projects.
