Featured Faculty: Mark Stacey, Jack P. Moehle

On April 27, 2023, the Academy of Distinguished Alumni (ADA) at Berkeley CEE held a gala event to induct ten new members into its Class of 2022. This year's banquet celebrated the 11th anniversary of the ADA's founding and brought together alumni, faculty, students, and supporters from near and far.

The event took place at the University Club located in the California Memorial Stadium on the Berkeley campus and was attended by over 150 guests. The occasion was a joyous reunion of friends and colleagues who came to honor the remarkable accomplishments of all Academy members. You can view the program for the event here.

Funds raised by the Academy in 2023 will support Community-Engaged Education in Civil & Environmental Engineering, or (CEE)², a program designed to attract more young students with greater gender and racial diversity to engineering. From earthquake resilience to green infrastructure, (CEE)² engages Bay Area grade school students in projects within their own neighborhoods, emphasizing the role that they have in envisioning and developing solutions to some of our most fundamental challenges.

This year, banquet sponsors raised $134K to support (CEE)², leading the way in growing the program in the next three years to more than 1,000 students from a number of under-represented Bay Area communities.

We celebrate and thank our sponsors for their unwavering support!
