ECIC Alum Paul Lee Featured on Cover Page of Civil Engineering Magazine

Paul Lee (CE MS' 16) has been featured on the cover page of the January/February 2024 print issue of Civil Engineering Magazine. He received his M.S. in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley in 2016, completing studies in the Energy, Civil Infrastructure and Climate program. In this issue, Paul discusses his participation in ASCE's second IMAX movie, "Cities of the Future."

The movie is scheduled to open at museums and other venues around the country on Feb. 16, following a screening at ASCE's annual convention in Chicago in October. During the lead-up to the premiere, Civil Engineering spoke with Paul Lee, P.E., ENV SP, M.ASCE, one of the civil engineers featured in the film, to preview what the movie's vision on the big screen might mean for the profession.

Paul is an Energy Policy Analyst at the LA Mayor's Office of Sustainability, where he leads work on renewable energy, greenhouse gas monitoring, and air quality. Paul received his M.S. in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley in 2016, focusing on energy and climate. 

He previously worked on projects for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power to reach 100% clean energy by 2035. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. He also serves on the American Society of Civil Engineers Committee on Technical Advancement, focusing on preparing our infrastructure for a changing climate.
