Alex Bayen's Mobile Millennium in the News

Featured Faculty: Alexandre M. Bayen

Professor Alex Bayen, faculty member in CEE's Civil Systems program, and his Mobile Millennium team have completed a study indicating that real-time sharing of traffic information via social networking (such as Waze) can reduce stress and create community among commuters.

Moreover, real-time information sharing between commuters can influence the development of new technologies, policies, and other innovations that can improve commuting in metropolitan areas everywhere.

The study was conducted for the New Cities Foundation, with funding from Ericsson. The results of the landmark study were released by the New Cities Foundation (see press release), and have been echoed in the popular media, in particular:
