Description

The Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering at The University of Arizona (UA) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in environmental engineering. We seek interdisciplinary scholars capable of developing a vibrant research program and teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in environmental engineering. All areas of research will be considered. The faculty member is expected to develop a strong research program. In addition, the faculty member will teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and contribute to mentoring students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds. The faculty member will also participate in outreach and contribute to departmental, college, and university service, as well as the profession. In these and other ways, the faculty member will help to develop innovative approaches to enhancing student engagement, increasing diversity, and expanding collaborations with community and business partners.
Application review will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is August 2019. A simultaneous search with the same timeline is being conducted for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in chemical engineering.

The faculty member will develop and maintain a top-quality research program, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and perform service to the department, university, research field, and wider communities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related discipline, and demonstrated research potential or accomplishments.
  • Demonstrated ability to publish in respected peer-reviewed academic journals.
  • Evidence of strong research skills and commitment to quality education.
  • Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
