Professor Khalid Mosalam and Postodoctoral Scholar Martin Neuenschwander are recipients of the Journal of Structural Engineering's (JSE) 2020 Best Paper Award in Materials & Structural Response. Mosalam and Neuenschwander are co-authors of "Structural Behavior of Steel-Plate Girders in Shear: Experimental Study and Review of Current Design Principles," which presents a novel experimental investigation into the pre- and postcritical behavior of steel-plate girders in shear force.
Each year, JSE selects only three Best Paper Awards, in the categories of Analysis & Computation, Structural Hazards, and Materials & Structural Response.
