Cal Steel Bridge Team Competes at Nationals

Body

The Steel Bridge team traveled to the AISC National Steel Bridge Competition in Blacksburg, VA on May 27-28th. Thirty-four teams from all over the nation, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico gathered at Virginia Tech to display, assemble, and test their 20 ft long structures.

The Golden Bears won 3rd place in the video portion of the competition and won 6th place for the stiffness of their bridge. We are very proud of their resilience, as they overcame various challenges throughout competition. We are excited to see them grow in the upcoming year.

Courtney Turkatte has served as the Project Manager for this year; Jacob Lion will be PM for the next academic year. Go Bears!
