Lindsey Maclise M.S., S.E., LEED AP.

Lindsey Maclise received her B.S. degree (2005) and M.S. degree (2006) in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Following graduation, Ms. Maclise joined Forell | Elsesser Engineers, where she has built a distinguished career over 18 years. She has led the design and engineering of various projects, including multi-family housing, laboratories, and athletic facilities.
Ms. Maclise is widely recognized as a leader in sustainable design and structural engineering, including her work on Sutardja Dai Hall and the Legends Aquatic Center at UC Berkeley and laboratory facilities for Stanford and UCSF. Her expertise in integrating sustainable elements into structural design has made her a sought-after speaker at national conferences, where she has presented on the role of structural engineers in green building practices. Ms. Maclise has also held leadership positions in various professional organizations, including chair of the Sustainable Design Committee for the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California, currently serves as the chair of the Berkeley CEE Advisory Council, and will serve as a Board Member for the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI).
Ms. Maclise’s professional contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including receiving the SEAONC Zacher Award in 2013 and being selected as a Fellow in the EERI Housner Fellowship Program in 2012. In addition, she served as the Convention Chair for the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute and was a Board Member of the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California (SEAONC).
Ms. Maclise is a dedicated supporter of Berkeley CEE through her mentorship in the SEMM Mentorship Program and numerous invited lectures. Most recently, she spoke at the CEE Community Highlights Event, where she emphasized the importance of industry engagement in shaping the future of engineering education. Ms. Maclise’s ongoing involvement in the department includes collaborating with faculty on research initiatives, supporting CEE's sustainability efforts, and providing guidance on strategic directions for the department. During her time at Cal, Ms. Maclise competed for the Golden Bears as a scholarship student-athlete in track and field, where she set the school record in the Indoor Mile. She was awarded the Geballe scholarship to support her graduate studies for her academic and athletic achievements during her undergraduate education.
