CEE Commencement Ceremony Information

Featured Faculty: Ashok Gadgil

Congratulations to all our graduating and graduated Civil and Environmental Engineering students!

The College of Engineering Commencement ceremonies will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. The Doctoral degree ceremony will be on Saturday, May 18, 2024, and the College of Engineering will host the Ph.D. reception after the ceremony at the Campanile.

Our very own Professor Ashok Gadgil will be the keynote speaker for the Doctoral ceremony on Saturday. Professor Gadgil is widely considered a “humanitarian inventor.” For decades, he has created low-cost engineering solutions—including water purifiers, arsenic removal technology, and fuel-efficient cookstoves—that have proved transformative for low-resource communities across the world. In 2023, he was recognized with the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the nation’s highest honor for technological achievement.
