10K Challenge Match for The Robert E. Selleck Memorial Fund

Dear Berkeley alumni and friends:

Professor Emeritus Robert Selleck passed away on September 9, 2011 at the age of 84 (see In Memoriam: Robert Earl Selleck).

During his career as a faculty member in the CEE Environmental Engineering program (1961-1990) many generations of students benefited from his teaching and mentoring.

To honor Selleck's lasting contributions to the environmental engineering program at Berkeley and the deep impact he had on graduate students throughout his career, several friends, colleagues, and former students have established The Robert E. Selleck Memorial Fund that will support graduate students enrolled in the Environmental Engineering program of CEE at UC Berkeley.

As former beneficiaries of Selleck's tireless efforts we feel that "in creating the endowment fund in his honor, Bob's legacy of honesty, perseverance and solid science will live on forever in the hearts and minds of his most beloved subjects, his students of the past, as well as the future recipients of the fund awards."

An anonymous donor has offered a $10K Challenge Match for The Robert E. Selleck Memorial Fund. Any donation will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10K.  See below for how to make a tax deductible contribution.

Selleck’s classnotes for CE 217, one of his favorite courses, are available for downloading at CE 217 classnotes.  He wrote them with the same style as he taught the material in the classroom and so they might bring wonderful memories. As suggested by Selleck on the first page “Read and Enjoy.”
