Professor Claudia Ostertag presented a keynote lecture, "Durability Enhancement through Multi-scale Crack Control," at the 15th International Conference on Durability of Building Materials and Components (DBMC). For more than 40 years, DBMC conferences have served as global events to showcase high quality research in the area of building technologies, civil engineering and architecture focused on durability. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's conference is taking place online from October 20 - 23, 2020.
There is an open Request for Information (RFI) from the U.S. Department of Energy's Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) regarding the bioeconomy workforce and career development. The RFI intends to identify existing bioenergy workforce development assets and gaps in the bioenergy industry and academia. The American Association for Aerosol Research (AAAR) has elected Professor Allen Goldstein as its 39th Fellow, recognizing his work to address one of the most challenging problems in atmospheric aerosols – organic constituents. Goldstein has made pioneering contributions by embracing and unraveling the complexity of natural and anthropogenic chemical sources and their atmospheric transformations.
