Environmental engineering science major Claire Beckstoffer is a finalist for this year's University Medal award! The University Medal was established in 1871, three years after the founding of the University of California, to recognize outstanding undergraduate students upon their graduation.
A group of committed Cal Construction students recently completed a construction safety class led by Beavers Teaching Fellow Mark Shami. Following completion of the three-part workshop, students received their 10-hour OSHA cards.

It is named after Robert Wadell, a distinguished Berkeley CEE alum and Founder, President and CEO of Wadell Engineering Corporation, a firm specializing in airport planning, design, and construction management.
In honor of Earth Day, students from Professor Tina Chow's CE 105 class recently partnered with Edison High School in Southwest Stockton to build and distribute air purifiers in their community. On April 16, students from the two campuses teamed up to construct 120 air purifiers from basic household items, serving to protect vulnerable community members from the effects of harmful air pollutants.
