Deputy Director for Sustainability at Caltrans Ellen Greenberg leads Caltrans' work in advancing zero emission vehicles, reducing vehicle miles traveled, and progressing toward transportation equity. She has over 30 years’ experience working with cities, transportation agencies and non-governmental organizations to guide transportation, development, and conservation decisions. Prior to joining Caltrans, Ellen was a Principal at Arup, working in SF and London on major urban planning and infrastructure projects. James van Hoften

Consultant, Bechtel Corporation In 1978, Dr. van Hoften was selected to be part of the first dedicated Space Shuttle astronaut group. He flew on Space Shuttle flights in 1984 and 1985. He joined Bechtel Corporation in 1986 and currently serves as a consultant for the company. Dr. van Hoften was awarded the ASCE's President's Medal, and was recognized as an outstanding alumnus of UC Berkeley. He serves as a trustee of the UC Berkeley Foundation. |

Susan Hubbard

Associate Director, LBNL Earth & Environmental Sciences Dr. Hubbard has made seminal contributions to the understanding of terrestrial system functioning, with a focus on the use of geophysical methods for shallow subsurface characterization and monitoring and the use of integrated datasets to investigate environmental problems. She is the author or coauthor of more than 100 published papers. Since 2007, Dr. Hubbard has served as an Associate Director of the Berkeley Water Center. She was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2020. |

Julie L. Labonte

Senior Vice President, HDR Ms. Labonte is a Senior Vice President at HDR, an employee-owned engineering and architecture firm with 200 offices around the globe. During her career, she has led the implementation of water infrastructure programs valued at more than $20 billion, including some of the largest and most complex programs in North America. In 2013, the American Society of Civil Engineers recognized Julie with the Government Engineer of the Year in the U.S. Award. She is a past national board member of the Construction Management Association of America. As part of Water For People, she has led multiple teams of technical volunteers in Africa. |

Professor and Chair, Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Michigan Dr. Love is the Chair of CEE at the University of Michigan. Her research is in the area of environmental biotechnology, where she studies biological processes in environmental engineering and science with a focus on engineering wastewater treatment systems and environmental health applications. In 2006, she received the Virginia Tech Dept. of CEE Alumni Teaching Excellence Award. She was a NSF CAREER Award recipient in 1995. |

Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Stanford University Professor Luthy is the Silas H. Palmer Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University. He served as Chair of Stanford CEE from 2003-2009. Professor Luthy teaches in the area of environmental engineering and water quality, with a focus on physiochemical processes and applied aquatic chemistry with application to waste reduction and treatment, and remediation of contaminated soil and sediment. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, and is the former chair of the National Research C ouncil's Water Science and Technology Board. |

Stephen Monismith

Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering. Stanford University Professor Monismith is the former chair of Stanford University's Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering and director of the Environmental Fluid Mechanics Laboratory. He is a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment and Obayashi Professor in the School of Engineering. His current research includes studies of estuarine hydrodynamics and mixing processes, flows over coral reefs and on the inner shelf, turbulence in density stratified fluids, and physical-biological interactions in phytoplankton and benthic systems. |

He is a Director of MKC Global Protection, Inc., which specializes in risk analysis, and a Director of Toward Zero.org, a non-profit focused on creating net zero energy communities in the US and oversees. He is a Past International Director, Fellow and Life Member of ASCE. |

Anu Sridharan

Co-Founder & CEO, NextDrop, Inc. Ms. Sridharan co-founded NextDrop, Inc., an organization that sends text message alerts to notify people in India with the date and time fresh water will be piped to their area—a critical service in an area where water supply is erratic. She also served as the Education and Health director for a water/sanitation project in the slums of Mumbai, India called "Haath Mein Sehat". In 2012, she was selected to the Forbes "30 Social Entrepreneurs Under 30" list for her work with NextDrop. |

Shane Trussell

President of Trussell Technologies, Inc Shane is the President of Trussell Technologies, Inc. with more than 25 years of experience, a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley studying membrane bioreactors, an M.S. from UCLA, and his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UC Riverside. Shane has authored more than 60 publications and is a registered professional engineer in California. Shane is passionate about finding elegant and simple solutions to the complex challenges facing utilities with climate change threatening our water quality and supply. Shane has been involved in the planning, design, permitting, operation and optimization of indirect and direct potable reuse projects. He has also served as the Principal Investigator on research projects that developed critical information to fill important data gaps that supported the development of potable reuse regulations (both surface water and direct) in California. |

Dr. Trussell served on the EPA's Science Advisory Board, and serves on the Membership Committee for the National Academy of Engineering, and as Chair of the Water Science and Technology Board for the National Academies. In 2010, he was awarded the A.P. Black Award from the American Water Works Association. |
