The UC Berkeley GeoSystems program hosted its sixth annual Geotechnical Engineering Research Symposium last Friday! This event gives current Ph.D. students and Research Associates the opportunity to share their research with the geotechnical engineering industry and fellow researchers.
As part of the symposium, Ph.D. students gave short oral presentations and had one-on-one interactions in a poster session where they shared their research findings and potential avenues for future projects in areas of broad-band evolution, co-seismic landslides, improving accuracy in material point method, and energy-based method for prediction of excess pore water pressure.
The event was co-sponsored by the UC Berkeley Graduate Assembly and SFGI and concluded with a round-table discussion on the climate's impact on infrastructure resiliency.
