The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) just published a reconnaissance report on the failures of the Edenville and Sanford Dams that occurred on May 19, 2020, in Michigan. The report presents the results of an investigation immediately after the failure using a range of techniques, includes geophysics, and optical and infrared UAV-based surveys.

East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) invites candidates who have the appropriate qualifications to apply for and Engineering Aide position (part-time - 19 hours per week, when school is in session OR temporary full time - 40 hours per week for up to 6 months on school breaks) in the Water Distribution Planning Division of the Engineering and Construction Department. Professor Emeritus Alex Horne received the Odum Award, from the American Ecological Engineering Society (AEES). This award for lifetime achievement is the Society’s most prestigious award and was presented virtually at the May 2021 Annual Meeting. The Odum award is named for the late professors H.T. Odum (U. Florida) and Eugene Odum (U. Georgia), brothers and preeminent pioneers in the field.
