EVHybridNoire is the nation’s largest network of diverse electric vehicle drivers and enthusiasts. An organization with a passionate and dedicated team, our mission is to advance EVs and other “e-mobility” solutions--and ensure those solutions are inclusive and equitable. We are expanding our team with regional managers who will each lead our e-mobility and transportation policy and advocacy programs in their region. We are hiring a National Policy Manager who will oversee our efforts at the federal level and support our state-level policy work, and we are looking for a National Communications Manager who will expand our reach in earned and paid media.

Professor Emeritus Marty Wachs Passes Away

 

The transportation community deeply mourns the loss of Emeritus Professor Marty Wachs of the Departments of Civil & Environmental Engineering and City & Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley (and UCLA where he was a Distinguished Professor Emeritus in Urban Planning). His dedication to students, teaching, and research are truly inspiring. He has left a legacy in many areas of transportation research, including his pioneering work on social equity, environmental quality, and community values.

Infant Warmer Reduces Infant Mortality in Rwanda Hospitals

 

A study by Professor Ashok Gadgil and LBNL Research Scientist Vi Rapp has been accepted in The Lancet - eClinicalMedicine. The study examines the use of the non-electric Infant Warmer (IW), a low-cost and reusable wraparound pad that helps prevent infant hypothermia in areas where skin-to-skin contact between a mother and newborn is inadequate or unfeasible. Both Gadgil and Rapp led the engineering side of the IW design, implementation, and testing.
