After a two-year hiatus, Berkeley CEE's Academy of Distinguished Alumni (ADA) inducted its Classes of 2020 and 2021 in a gala event on June 16, 2022. This year's banquet celebrated the 10th anniversary of the ADA's founding, and welcomed 20 new individuals into its membership!
Associate Professor Tracy Becker has been awarded The Professor Ed & Diane Wilson Presidential Chair in Structural Engineering. The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Rights has an opening for a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer Specialist in the Drought Planning, Hearings and Special Projects Section of the Bay Delta and Hearings Branch.
This position offers a unique and challenging opportunity to serve as a technical and multi-disciplinary team lead for the development and implementation of a wide variety of long-term drought planning and management initiatives, projects, and programs designed to improve the efficiency and efficacy of the State Water Board’s Division of Water Rights’ drought management actions; and to assist with complex and controversial water right hearings, adjudicatory proceedings, and permitting actions before the State Water Board.

Assistant Professor Amy Pickering received the prestigious NSF CAREER Award for her cutting-edge research exploring targeted long-read DNA sequencing to develop a culture-independent metagenomics platform for global monitoring of antibiotic resistance (AR) that takes away the need for costly equipment or access to high-performance computing resources.
Professor Khalid Mosalam received the 2021 Hojjat Adeli Award for Innovation in Computing for the journal paper "Balanced Semi-Supervised Generative Adversarial Network for Damage Assessment from Low-Data Imbalanced-Class Regime," published in the Journal of Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering.
R&S Construction Management, Inc., is looking for an internship/entry level assistant project manager to assist with construction projects.
Core Responsibilities:
- Work directly with project managers to help implement project goals and deliveries;
- Process and track submittals, RFIs, T&M, and change orders;
- Assist with procuring materials and equipment. Obtain subcontractor's and supplier's pricing as needed;
- Prepare bidding documents, organize bid paperwork on bid day, prepare post bid documents
- Communicate and coordinate with owners, project managers, superintendents, foremen, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other parties;
- Attend project meetings.
- Prepare project closeout documents;
- Research information as required;
- Process and track project documentation and reports;
- Track and submit project daily reports, safety reports, JHAs, etc.;
