The Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER) and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) are collaborating on the development of the first regional-scale, open-access simulated earthquake ground motion database for the San Francisco Bay Area.
Center for Smart Infrastructure Holds Lab Test at Richmond Field Station
Earlier this month, the Center for Smart Infrastructure (CSI) welcomed a visit by State Assembly Members Buffy Wicks, Pilar Schiavo, and Juan Alanis. They were there to observe a large-scale 4-point bending testing of a 40-inch diameter ductile iron water pipeline manufactured by US Pipe.
In Memoriam: Professor Emeritus James K. Mitchell
James (Jim) K. Mitchell, Professor Emeritus of Civil and Environmental Engineering, passed away on December 17, 2023. He was 93 years old.

CEE Assistant Professor Eyitayo Opabola is the 2023 Shah Family Innovation Prize recipient from the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI)!
