Jacqueline Hurtado Receives Hallac Scholarship
CEE sophomore Jacqueline Hurtado received a BlackRock Hallac Scholarship. The scholarship covers all undergraduate expenses and offers an internship opportunity at BlackRock in Summer 2020.
Jacqueline's internship will be in the BlackRock office in San Francisco, where she will be working in the Risk and Quantitative Analysis branch.
Interested in either structural or transportation engineering, Jacqueline would like to earn a PhD and make an improvement or an advancement in her chosen field.

Description
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at MIT invites applications for several tenure- track faculty positions to begin July 2020 or on a mutually agreed date thereafter. Faculty appointments will be at the assistant or untenured associate professor level. In special cases, a senior faculty appointment may be possible.

Oct. 21: Juan Argote gives Distinguished Lecture on Path to Self-Driving Vehicle Technology
Juan Argote (CEE MS '10; PhD '14) will give the fall CEE Distinguished Lecture on Monday, Oct. 21. Dr. Argote is the Transportation Research Lead within the Uber Advanced Technologies Group.
He will speak on "The Pathway Towards the Deployment of Self-Driving Vehicle Technology."
